the vibrantly rich culture of Mumbai. |

Held on every
Sunday from November to January, the venues for the
activities are the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA),
the David Sassoon Library Garden, the Jehangir Art Gallery,
among others within the area. Kala Ghoda fesival is run by
the Kala Ghoda Association, established in 1988 with an
objective to improve the existing infrastructure of the
area, and giving it a distinct identity as Mumbai's art
district. Today Kala Ghoda fair has become no less than a
catalyst for the revival of art across Mumbai.
During the Kala Ghoda festival, the whole of the area around
Jehagir Art Gallery turns into a plaza on the streets. It's
a rare experience when you can walk past aesthetically
designed kiosks, and savor the artistes' works created right
before your eyes. You can breathe the earthly smell coming
out from the master potter's art turning alive. It's the
best time when the sights, sounds, rhythm, beat and love of
rural India take centre-stage.
The atmosphere is electric with creativity. Every lane seems
to speak of subtle essence of art. You may browse through
books and choose your kind of music. You can even have
parrots narrating your future if you care to listen and
shell out some penny.
And after all this hectic and engaging fun you will love to
treat yourself to the varied cuisine that Maharashtra
offers. Relish a traditional Parsi breakfast or walk into
the famous Max Mueller Bhavan and feast one's senses on a
collection of award winning Indian films. With the Sun
sliding down the Arabian Sea and fresh gust of cool breeze,
you can go for a potpourri of folk dancers, musicians and
singers.
